CD Review – Portal, by Akasa

Akasa's latest album is indeed a gateway to other states of being, mental, emotional, and psychological dimensions that transcend the conventional and the mundane.

This enchanting chanteuse's voice is ethereal and otherworldly, a mystery and an enigma, haunting yet inviting and reassuring. It is definitely a unique experience.

Complementing Akasa's vocal intrigue is appropriately eclectic instrumentation and vocals by accomplished musicians including Morris Hayes, Nick Michaels, Aaron Michael Stern, Andre Miuex, Shenkar, Bill Scott, Kip Blackshire, and Phil Curran.

As Akasa proves on this record, more often than not, taking the road less traveled and following the beat of a different drum can reap immeasurable rewards.
